I began practicing yoga because, while having a golf lesson at my local club, the golf professional said I was stiff and I should go to yoga to help with my golf swing.
I practice yoga now because it makes me feel good.
The most reward thing for me as a teacher is seeing students progress in their practice.
As a teacher trainer, seeing people who fear public speaking at the beginning of the course learn to teach a 90 minute class with confidence is most rewarding.
The biggest challenge for a yoga teacher is ensuring that everyone in class has a good experience, from new students to experienced students.
As for the future of yoga, I hope more people discover how good it makes you feel and how good it is for stress relief.
For students considering teaching or deepening their practice, I think a teacher training course is a great way to learn more about you, your body and your practice. You don’t necessarily have to teach after but you will learn more about yourself.
