|ABSOLUTE HOT YOGA|
Absolute Hot Yoga is a high-energy, invigorating series of 50 classic yoga poses in a specific sequence that promotes balance, strength, flexibility, and overall wellness. The studio is heated (37°C) which allows students to work deeply into postures while simultaneously detoxifying the body. Absolute Hot Yoga is the perfect practice for everyone, regardless of age or ability level because it’s fun, challenging, and makes you feel fantastic! Throughout the course, you’ll memorize each posture’s name (in English and Sanskrit), its benefits for the body, and how to safely and effectively teach that pose to new students.
VERBAL INSTRUCTIONS & VOCAL SKILLS
Throughout the course, you’ll learn a specific set of Hot Yoga verbal instructions that will give you the confidence and knowledge needed to stand up and lead a group of strangers through a 90-minute Hot Yoga class. You’ll also learn how to use tone-of-voice, word choice, and volume to be even more effective.
ADJUST, ADAPT, MODIFY
As the teacher, it’s your job to help students express themselves as fully as possible in their yoga practice. Sometimes this requires talking, and other times it requires touch. You’ll learn who and when to help, and how and when to adapt or modify what you’re teaching so everyone has a safe and uplifting experience.
KRIYAS, PRANAYAMA, MEDITATION
Throughout the training, we’ll practice powerful yogic techniques for cleansing and purifying the body (kriyas) along with breathing exercises (pranayama) that will soothe your nerves and focus the mind. At our evening meditation, we’ll sit together as group and practice stillness, the most challenging yoga practice of all.
YOGA HISTORY & PHILOSOPHY
Yoga originated in India thousands of years ago as a system of practices that lead toward spiritual realization. The yoga we all know and love today is quite different, but as a yoga teacher, it is important to know the history and belief system behind this powerful practice.
ANATOMY OF YOGA
When we practice yoga, we become hyper-aware of our bodies, our imbalances, and our strengths and weaknesses. The study of anatomy, specifically as it relates to yoga, will help you gain a deeper understanding of what’s happening beneath the skin, making it easier to avoid injury, modify poses safely, and teach with confidence.
THE BUSINESS OF YOGA
So now that you’re ready to teach—what’s next? During the last week of the training, you’ll learn how to apply for and obtain yoga teaching jobs, and for those interested, there will also be a special section on franchise opportunities with Absolute Yoga.
